“Art is not pleasure, consolation or amusement. Art is a great thing.” -Leo Tolstoy
To the ACO, music is much more than mere entertainment.
We believe music is a powerful force for good– it opens our hearts, brings us together, transforms our lives- experiencing music makes us better human beings and our community a better place for us all.
This belief animates all that we do and is the guiding inspiration behind all of our activities.
As the Treasure Coast’s own world-class orchestra we are dedicated to our community and touching the lives of literally thousands every season through performances of the greatest works of art.
But great art comes at a high cost, and with growing to better serve our community come ever-increasing expenses. As a result, the board and staff of the ACO have as their priority the long-term financial health of the organization.
And now, thanks to the incredible generosity of an anonymous donor the ACO stands poised to meet the all important goal of long-term financial stability for our orchestra.
The ACO is excited to announce a challenge gift of up to $1 million in matching funds for all gifts of over $10,000 between January 1, 2007, and December 31, 2011. All of the matching funds given by the anonymous donor will go directly into an endowment fund– donors that give as part of the Challenge Gift Campaign have the opportunity to designate where they wish to direct their individual gift.
Donors to the Challenge Gift Campaign must agree to complete a donation of $10,000 or more to the ACO by year-end 2011 to qualify their gift(s) for matching funds.
Donors to the Challenge Gift Campaign may give in any of these ways to the ACO:
- General Operating Fund (Help meet today’s pressing financial needs)
- Sponsor a Concert or Concert Series (Vero Beach or Stuart)
- Endow (one-time gift) or Sponsor (annually) the Conductor, Concertmaster or Principal Musician Chairs
- Become a member of the Andrew McMullan Founders Society
- The Scottish Kilt Society (gifts of $50,000 or greater)
Donors may direct their gifts in other ways not listed– many other naming and endowment opportunities exist.
Would you consider making a pledge to the ACO Challenge Gift Campaign?
We truly need your help in bringing the transformative power of music to our community- your donation supports our efforts to make the Treasure Coast a better place for generations to come.
