Commonly Asked Questions - Experience Excellence

I understand that ACO performances are sold-out at the Lyric Theatre. Can I still get tickets?

We are not sold-out for any performances at the Lyric Theatre, although we do have a large number of subscribers, particularly for our 8:00 pm performance.

I understand that there are no “good” seats available for ACO performances.

That is simply not true- we have great seats available for all of our concerts.  Both the Waxlax Center and the Lyric Theatre have excellent acoustics and are small enough theaters that literally “every seat in the house” is a good seat.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

Single tickets for the Waxlax Center can be purchased over the phone (toll-free 866-310-7521), on-line on our website or at the Waxlax box office on the night of the performance.  Single tickets for the Lyric Theatre can be purchased during the season through the Lyric Theatre by phone (772-286-7827), on-line at the Lyric’s website (www.lyrictheatre.com) or at the theatre’s box office (59 SW Flagler Avenue, Stuart).

How much do tickets cost?

Single ticket prices are $40 at the Waxlax Center in Vero Beach and for the 4:00 pm performance at the Lyric; $45 for 8:00 pm performances at the Lyric Theatre.  Student tickets are available at all performances for $5.

What if I lose my tickets?

No problem! If you are attending a Vero Beach concert contact the ACO box office at least one day before the performance, we can have replacement tickets waiting for you at the Waxlax’s Will Call window.  If you are attending a Stuart concert contact the Lyric box office and they will be able to accommodate you similarly.

I have tickets, but I cannot attend the concert. What do I need to do?

Feel free to give your tickets away to friends or family members.  Otherwise, we are glad to accept the donation of your tickets back to the Symphony so we can sell them back to eager patrons on our waiting list.  These donations are greatly appreciated and are 100% tax-deductible.  To donate tickets, please call the ACO at our toll-free number, (866) 310-7521.

What time does the concert begin?

Our regular season performances begin at 8 pm, for the Vero Beach performance and the evening performance in Stuart, and 4:00 pm for our afternoon Stuart performance.  We strongly recommend attending Maestro Robertson’s Pre-Concert Conversation, which begins promptly 50 minutes prior to all scheduled orchestra performances.  Otherwise, we suggest arriving at least 15 minutes beforehand, or 30 minutes prior if you are planning to pick up tickets at Will Call or the box office.

How long are concerts?

Normal concerts are usually about two hours and fifteen minutes from start to finish.  This includes a fifteen-minute intermission.

What should I wear to hear the Atlantic Classical Orchestra?

You'll see concertgoers in a wide range of apparel ranging from business casual to evening wear. We suggest that you wear whatever makes you comfortable.

When should I clap?

Generally, the rule of thumb is to clap only after a piece is complete, not in between the individual movements of some compositions.  If you’re unsure which movement is the last, you can refer to the program notes.  If you still have doubts, it is always safe to wait until the conductor steps off his podium and turns around, or until every one else claps.
